Whole of life insurance, or whole of life assurance, sometimes called “straight life” or “ordinary life,” is a life insurance policy which is guaranteed to remain in force for the insured’s entire lifetime, provided required premiums are paid, or to the maturity date.

It is also often used for Inheritance Tax generally written as Joint Life Last Survior and written in Trust. Ideal policy to have when taken out at a young age as premiums are health and age related and especially when the inheritance is expected and looked at being transferred to the next of kin.
